Recently in class we have been talking about podcasts. Our assignment the other day was to listen to a couple of podcasts on topics of interest. From this assignment I not only learned what the qualities of a good podcast are but also some new interesting tidbits of information from the podcasts.
One podcast I listened to was called "Getting Away With It" from the This American Life site. From this podcast I learned that some people try to justify their wrongdoing instead of living up to the consequences. I also learned that before airplane security was super tight, two twelve year old girls snuck onto an airplane and flew to New York and they didn't even get in trouble! Getting Away With It
The other podcast that I listened to was from How Stuff Works: Stuff You Should Know, it was entitled "Myths About the Brain". I learned that the brain is not all gray, in fact, some areas of the brain are black and some are white. I also learned that subliminal messages don't work and by listening to subliminal tapes you will not get better at something. Myths About the Brain
It's amazing what you can learn from a podcast.
